It was not just the players of PEC Zwolle who scored last Friday at the football stadium in Zwolle. Students and trainees at Perron038 went home with a lot of new knowledge and the memory of a great evening. Region Zwolle United, Windesheim and Perron038 joined forces for an event for students about hard work, cooperation and networking.
Talent and hard work
Marcel Boudesteyn, technical director at PEC Zwolle and Marius Woldberg, quartermaster at Perron038, kicked off the afternoon in interview form. Marcel encouraged the students to make good use of their talents: “Hard work beats talent. This is true in football, but equally true in your student career. You have to work hard and stay sharp to be successful.”
To add practical examples, a number of employees from partner companies of Perron038 were present in addition to students. Students had the opportunity to ask engineers from Tembo, MechDes and VMI about the steps they have taken in their careers.
Collaboration
The programme continued with a presentation by Hendrikus ter Horst (AWL) on working together in multidisciplinary teams. Something students are already familiar with in their projects and internships; at Perron038 they work in teams on an assignment. Whether you study mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, ICT or technical business administration: everyone is needed within a project.
Regio Zwolle United, Windesheim Techniek and Perron038 joined forces in organising the event. All three organisers have a connecting role in Regio Zwolle.
Work hard – play hard
But, with hard work and learning also comes fun. After a meal and drinks, it was time to watch the PEC Zwolle vs FC Eindhoven (5-2) match from the skybox in Clubhouse Regio Zwolle. A great game, three points, a good atmosphere and enthusiastic students. They are already looking forward to the next event!
